About Tursio

Tursio builds enterprise search for structured data, connecting the databases an organization already runs to the people, applications, and agents that need answers from them. Founded in 2023, we are a seed-stage startup based in Bellevue, WA, with backing from leading venture firms in the Bay Area and overseas.

The founders, Alekh Jindal (Co-Founder and CEO) and Shi Qiao (Co-Founder and CTO), are ex-Microsoft employees with PhDs in databases and decades of experience building core infrastructure for Microsoft Azure. Together they pioneered industry firsts such as the first learning query optimizer, the first petabyte-scale shuffle, and the first generative BI at scale. Their work has resulted in 100+ research publications, 20+ patents, and best paper awards at premier conferences including CIDR, SIGMOD, and VLDB.

Tursio's vision is to empower organizations with data + AI superpower from day one. Generative AI is one of the most transformative technologies of the twenty-first century, yet it is only as powerful as the data it runs on. Most organizations struggle to bring the two together, and the results are inaccurate or simply not useful. We envision a new generation of systems that unite enterprise data with AI natively, making organizations future-ready and unlocking their next level of growth.

Mission

We are on a mission to turn databases into generative AI machines, bringing AI to data natively and powering a new wave of agentic workflows. Our patented technology is driving efficiency, innovation, and growth across banking, insurance, healthcare, and technology.

Rather than copy data into yet another system, Tursio infers a context graph over the databases you already have — relationships, dimensions, measures, ontologies, and sensitive fields — and uses it to ground every question in a valid query plan. Our flagship product turns that into a modern way to ask questions and get insights, without time-consuming BI dashboards and reports. Business users get direct answers in natural language instead of waiting on data experts, and agents get a reliable data layer instead of guesswork.

This delivers two powerful outcomes:

Operations

Product. Our core product is a search layer over structured data, deployed in the customer's own environment. It serves three audiences. People ask questions in natural language: non-experts are guided fragment by fragment through auto-prompting, while analysts and domain experts use research modes for open-ended and multi-phase exploration. Applications embed Tursio through APIs and widgets. Agents such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot reach live databases through our MCP server. In every case the context graph constrains the language model, so answers stay accurate, consistent, and explainable.

Customers. We serve regulated industries that cannot move their data and are highly sensitive to accuracy challenges. Tursio addresses this by deploying on-premises with zero data movement, fine-grained access control, and full audit logging, so data never leaves the customer's environment. Customers can use Tursio out of the box or embed it directly into their applications.

Fundraise. We are backed by leading industry experts from Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nvidia, and NetApp, along with deep-tech investors across India and the US.
