About Tursio

Tursio, founded in 2023, is a Bellevue, WA–based company with a team of 20+ across the US and India. We are a seed-stage startup backed by leading venture firms in the Bay Area and overseas, with offices in Seattle and Bengaluru.

The founders, Alekh Jindal, Shi Qiao, and Rony Chatterjee, are all ex-Microsoft employees, with PhDs in databases and decades of experience building core infrastructure for Microsoft Azure. Collectively, they pioneered industry firsts such as the first learning query optimizer, the first petabyte-scale shuffle, and the first ad-to-purchase system at scale. Their work has resulted in 100+ research publications, 20+ patents, and best paper awards at premier conferences including CIDR, SIGMOD, and VLDB.

Mission

We are on a mission to turn databases into generative AI machines, bringing AI to data natively and powering a new wave of agentic workflows. Our patent-pending technology is driving efficiency, innovation, and growth across Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, and Technology.

Our flagship product provides knowledge workers with a modern way to ask questions and get insights — without time-consuming BI dashboards and reports. Traditionally, generating insights required data experts and complex reporting. With Tursio's AI-powered querying, users can simply ask in natural language and receive fast, descriptive answers that are easy to consume.

This delivers two powerful outcomes:

Operations

Product. Our core product is an AI-powered query engine that helps: (1) non-experts compile natural language questions into accurate data queries and generate descriptive responses, (2) semi-experts navigate through semantic graphs to formulate complex queries with 100% accuracy, and (3) domain experts power their agentic workflows for deeper insights and actions.

Customers. We serve regulated industries that cannot move their data and are highly sensitive to accuracy challenges. Tursio addresses this by deploying on-premises, ensuring zero data movement, while pioneering a new architecture that fuses data and AI. Customers can use Tursio out of the box or embed it directly into their applications.

Fundraise. We are backed by leading industry experts from Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Nvidia, and NetApps, along with deep-tech investors across India and the US.
